Ground Pork in Char Siu Sauce with Rice Recipe (For 4)
Ingredients:
Extra Virgin Olive Oil 1 tablespoon
Onion (Diced) 1/2 cup
Garlic (Minced) 1 tablespoon
Ground Pork (70/30) 1 pound
Green Onion (Chopped) 2 tablespoons
Char Siu Sauce 3 tablespoons
Steamed Rice 4 bowls
Cookware:
Le Creuset 2 quarts Heritage Legumier
Steps:
1. In a pan, heat olive oil on medium heat, add onion and cook until it started softening.
2. Stir in garlic and cook until fragrance.
4. Stir in 1 tablespoon chopped green onion.
While cooking the onion, there will be some browning on the bottom of the pot. It is not burning but the onion starts to caramelize. Stir occasionally and it will keep onion from burning.
Note:
I encountered my 1st Le Creuset cookware problem while cooking this dish. The food (the browning) was stuck at the bottom but it wasn’t burn at all. I boiled it with water for 10 minutes as suggested but it didn’t work. It was strange because cleaning had been a breeze. I found 2 methods on the internet and changed it a bit. Lucky me, the first method worked right away. If not, I will be really upset.
Boil half a pot of water, add 1 teaspoon baking soda. Slimmer for 10 minutes, use a wooden spoon and stir on the brown spots or stuck food until it is clean.
Method 2:
Add vinegar in the pot. Heat it up, use a wooden spoon to stir on the stuck food until it is removed.
